About the Trust

The Morar Community Trust was established in 2008 to promote and enhance the area. The Trust is a Company Limited by Guarantee and a Registered Charity. It aims to improve the Morar area by strengthening community spirit, encouraging growth and improving the quality of life for residents. The Trust also aims to improve amenities, promote business and encourage visitors to return, whilst preserving the heritage, natural history, beauty and tranquillity of the area.

Since 2016, Morar Community Trust has received a sum of money each year from the Gower Trust. We use these funds to provide small grants to local community groups. A committee made up of members of Morar Community Trust and Morar Community Council meet two to three times per year to consider applications from interested groups. If you would like to make an application, please complete the Grant Application and return to us.

The trust maintains a board of voluntary Directors, who act as trustees for the organisation.

Each year two of the directors stand down at the Annual General Meeting, but may offer to stand for a further term.

Prospective directors should have been resident in Morar for at least 2 years and have been active on behalf of the Trust for the last year.

We maintain the following policies:

Thank You

We would like to express our thanks to the funding organisations helping us to realise our projects and to all the people who are supporting the Trust in any way. We have received funding from Morar Community Council, Highland Council, The Big Lottery and the Third Enterprise Fund from the Scottish Government.

We would also like to say a big “Thank You” to all the people who donate baking, soups and sandwiches or help in various other ways. Without them there would be no local fundraising.

And lastly, many thanks to the people who have donated images:
